Chapter VII: The Nightmare that never ends. The Wrath of the Zlashink.
???: NO! STAY AWAY FROM ME!
The human soldier shot his machine gun at his mysterious attacker, who ran right at him cut clean through his body, killing him in the process. Demons and humans alike were trying to kill this mysterious intruder as the ruler of the kingdom of Arcroad, Princess Natalash Arcroad, stayed in her throne room. She had been talking with Mike when the communications started to come in. In mere minutes, this mysterious intruder had gotten from the castle gate and was closing in fast on the throne room. Natalash, simply called Nata by Mike, listened in horror as her soldiers were killed one by one. In a cage by the throne, also listening in horror was Rinae Nimino, who had been captured by Nata for some reason. Even Mike was shocked by what he was hearing as soldier by soldier was killed by this mysterious intruder, who then busted through the doors, walking inside nonchalantly. This intruder had black spiked hair with red bangs that are brushed to the right side and cover about half of his right eye, his eyes were black with purple irises and pupils and he had a slim figure with jet black skin and large thick purple lines going down from the shoulders to his hands, which had large red diamonds on the backs of them and the fingers past the knuckles were long black slightly curved blades. He wore a black sleeveless longcoat with a white fur collar, a black belt in the coat, and white trimming on the coat. He also had on blue jeans and black sneakers with white bottoms. His bladed fingers were dripping with blood and there was an obvious killing intent coming from the intruder as the final two guards ambush him, one demon and one human, but both very strong. The Attacker easily dodged their combined attack and slashed both of them across the chest, causing blood to spray out, much to Nata’s rage and Rinae’s horror. The figure then looked over at Nata, who was ready to kill this mysterious intruder.
Rinae Nimino sat in a limo across from her employer, a cute young maiden of with pale skin, long white hair, beautiful red eyes, and a slim figure that makes her look to be in her early teens wearing An elegant green and white dress with golden decorations that leaves her shoulders and back uncovered and extends down to her ankles and green high heel shoes. The employer smiled to Rinae, she had hired the young psychic to escort her back to her castle, which sounded easy enough, but the employer was a demon princess, more specifically, a White Dragon. Like the Black Dragons, White Dragons were a very rare breed of Dragons, usually symbolizing royalty. However, the employer had gone by the disguise of a human who simply had demons serving her.
Rinae: So, I’m surprised a demon like you wanted a human protecting her.
???: Huh? How did you know I was a demon?
Rinae: I’m a Psychic, I can read your mind.
???: Really?! That’s so cool!
Rinae: So since I know you’re a demon, why not tell me who you really are.
???: I don’t see any harm in that. I am Princess Natalash Archroad, but you can call me Nata for short.
Suddenly the limo was stopped. Outside were several bandits, mostly humans, with about 30 Respalkin’s behind them.
Bandit: Alright princess, come out! There’s no use trying to escape.
The back limo door opened, and the bandits were surprised to see the hooded Goth girl instead of the princess.
Bandit: who are you supposed to be?
Rinae: you’re worst nightmare.
Rinae held her hand out, sending a wave of Psychic energy at the bandits, sending them flying back. But they weren’t dead, just very mad.
Bandit: that’s it bitch! Respalkin unit, kill that Goth bitch!
The Respalkin’s turret wings spin as they start shooting bones at Rinae, who stops all the bones in midair using her psychic powers. She then sent them flying right at them, which made them flinch. Rinae rushed right into the group of Respalkins and stabbed one in the eye with her rapier, making it roar loudly before dying. The other Respalkins turn their attention to her and start shooting at her, but she dodged their shots using graceful steps that looked like she was dancing, as she passed by each Respalkin, she would either slash it or stab it in the head, killing each one as she progressed further and further into the crowd of demons, killing each one easily. Before she joined the dragon slayers, she’d barely be able to kill just one Respalkin, but thanks to Drako’s training, she was a force to be reckoned with. The remaining Respalkins backed away to try and keep their distance from the deadly Psychic fighter. Rinae held her hand out and Dengen began to gather at the palm of her hand, the Dengen made a high pitch sound as it formed a basketball in her hand.
Rinae: Screecher Missile!
The gray ball of Dengen shot out of her hand and flew right at the center of the Respalkins, where it exploded and killed most of them, leaving one injured Respalkin left. Rinae lifted the demon off the ground with her psychic powers, making the Respalkin panic and shoot randomly.
Rinae: Psycho Crusher.
Rinae clenched her hand, making a fist, and the Respalkin was crushed by her psychic powers until all that was left was a bloody mess. The Bandits were horrified by what they just witnessed and became visibly frightened when Rinae looked at them, making them all run away out of fear. Nata had watched the entire fight unfold right in front of her eyes, and she was awestruck at the power her human escort had. There was no denying she was powerful, and now Nata wanted that power for herself. They eventually arrived at the castle, where Nata’s servants paid Rinae as promised, but then Nata grinned as they closed the gates behind her, Rinae could already tell what was going on thanks to her Psychic powers and she readied her Dragon Fang for Nata’s attack.
Nata: I’m sorry, but I can’t let you leave. I want you to work for me from now on.
Rinae: Sorry, but I’m a mercenary, not a guard.
Nata: Then I guess we’ll have to do this the hard way, don’t worry, I promise not to hurt you too badly.
Nata’s body glowed and she transformed into a large bipedal white dragon with a feminine figure, large wings with the inner parts of it being colored black, and a long tail with a bow tied to it. Even in Dragon form, she still maintained a cute appearance, which was rather surprising to say the least. Nata lifted her foot and brought it down to try and stomp on Rinae, but she dodged easily and tried to stab Nata, but her Sword just bounced off Nata’s scales, much to Rinae’s surprise. She jumped back to avoid Nata grabbing her and continued to dodge as Nata chased her. Rinae got over the fence and ran, but Nata took to the sky and channeled Dengen to her mouth, where a large Ball of pure white Dengen formed before shooting out in the form of a beam, which Nata directed to go in a giant circle, creating a large circular explosion and a big ring shaped hole in the ground to trap Rinae. Nata landed on the plot of land inside the ring and swiped at Rinae with her claws, but Rinae dodged and backed up, but noticed she had nowhere to run. With no other options, she focused on Nata, hoping to knock her out. Nata got closer, but Rinae kept her focus, though clearly she struggled to lift the huge dragon with her mind, but much to Nata’s surprise, Rinae was actually doing it.
Nata: H-HEY! PUT ME DOWN! THIS ISN’T FUNNY!
Rinae Struggled as she lifted Nata higher and higher, soon Nata was about 20 feet in the air and Rinae brought her hands down, slamming Nata into the ground as hard as she could. Rinae panted, thinking she had beaten the Dragon Princess, she sat down to rest, only to be grabbed by Nata’s tail and slammed into the ground, knocking her out in the process.
Nata: phew! That really hurt.
Nata rubbed her head and flew back to her castle with Rinae in her grip.
Nata: but now I have her, the Psychic is mine.
Nata flew back to the castle and had her servants lock her up.
Nata: And be nice to her! We’re only keeping her locked up until she agrees to work for me!
Nata returned to her human form and returned to her throne room. Later, back in Delvadi city, Drako was getting worried about Rinae and went to the Mercenary job station to try and get some info to tell him what was taking Rinae so long, but as he walked in, he saw a man and a medieval suit of armor talking with a Dragon Knight, both were laughing and drinking beer as they talked about their Princess.
Human Knight: Man, Princess Natalash amazing! I can’t believe she actually defeated a Psychic in battle.
Dragon Knight: yeah, especially the one who’s the daughter of the Chief of Police in this stupid City.
Both laugh their asses off until Drako walked over and lifted the Human Knight up by the collar of his armor. Drako looked absolutely furious.
Drako: WHERE IS SHE?!
The Dragon Knight got up and pulled out his sword, pointing it right at Drako’s head.
Dragon Knight: You’ve got some serious balls to challenge us pal! We’re Knights of Princess Natalash, ruler of the kingdom Arcroad! Prepare to die!
The Dragon Knight swing his sword at Drako, who transformed his arm into its demonic form, surprising the two knights greatly as the sword broke when it hit his arm. Drako then backhanded the Knight across the room, knocking him out with one hit. His hair became spiked and his eye transformed into its demonic appearance as he brought his blade like fingers up to the human’s throat.
Drako: Now tell me where this Princess Natalash is, otherwise things are going to get very messy.
Feeling the blade against his neck, the knight finally caved, realizing that Drako was serious.
Knight: ok ok! She’s in her castle in Arcroad! It’s only about a few hours away by car.
Drako: Thank you.
Drako transformed back and threw the guy into his buddy before leaving and going to the nearest auto dealer, a sleazy slimeball named Thestalos. He was a large muscular lizard-like demon with creepy yellow eyes, a long tail, and red scaly skin. He wore a white t-shirt and black jeans with brown construction boots. He sold cars at his shop “Thestalos’ Auto dealers” where he specialized in selling any kind of vehicle imaginable for a “fair price”. Truthfully, Thestalos cared for nothing more than money, if you could meet his price, he’d give you any kind of vehicle you asked for, even ones that the police would find questionable or even Illegal. Thestalos was busy cleaning a black Alfa Romero 4C when Drako slammed some money on the hood of the car, getting the lizard demon’s attention.
Thestalos: Hey hey, easy on the car man, I just gave her a tune up.
Drako: I want the fastest and most destructive vehicle you’ve got, and money is no object!
Upon hearing the phrase “Money is no object”, Thestalos hissed a bit, sticking his forked tongue out for a second as he grind and laughed, putting his arm around Drako’s shoulder.
Thestalos: Well, if money’s no object, then I think we can work something out. Still, I’m surprised a former thief like you is asking a guy like me for a car. After all, last we saw each other, you called me a… oh… what was it called again?
Getting annoyed, Drako grabbed Thestalos’ arm and removed it from his shoulder, crushing it in his grip, making Thestalos yell in pain and try to get his hand free from Drako’s grip.
Drako: I called you a “Sleazy disgusting slime ball”. And I’m in no mood for your usual antics.
Drako let go of Thestalos’ hand, which he then rubbed and glared angrily at Drako. He was surprised to see the normally friendly mercenary so hostile, which was Thestalos’ signal that someone did something that REALLY pissed him off.
Thestalos: fine fine. But a word of advice, control that temper of yours. If it were anyone else, they wouldn’t even sell you an air freshener.
Thestalos took Drako to the back of the shop and pushed a hidden button, revealing an elevator in which the two go in. Thestalos hit the down button and the elevator takes them below the shop, where armored Vehicles of all shapes and sizes were sitting.
Thestalos: let’s see… you want something fast and destructive correct? Any other specifics?
Drako: yeah, something that would be difficult to follow and can’t be destroyed easily.
Thestalos grinned, thinking about how much he could charge Drako.
Thestalos: I know just the thing then, but I should warn you, it’s an illegal vehicle, if any cops see you with it, then you’ll be labeled as a wanted criminal.
Drako: Like that would be anything new.
Thestalos: True true, say that reminds me, how’s your old man? I haven’t seen him in such a long time.
Drako: He’s dead.
Thestalos seemed surprised by that.
Thestalos: I see… a real shame too. He was one of my favorite customers. He was nice, always paid well, always sold me high quality car parts. He was a smart dresser too. You gotta dig the man’s fashion sense. And his taste in women, oh don’t even get me started. What a shame, had I know, I would have come to the funeral.
Drako: Yeah, a real tragedy. Can we talk about this later? I’m in a rush.
Thestalos: yes yes, of course. Ah, here are.
Thestalos leads Drako to a customized R1200GS with a black and red paint job and detachable box for storing stuff.
Thestalos: I know she doesn’t look like much, but this beauty is the fastest and strongest machine I’ve got. Complete with being built entirely out of Denzendrix and having a Pratt & Whitney J58 built into it.
Drako: How do you fit a massive engine like that into a motorcycle?
Thestalos: It was built in Techonia. You know, that one kingdom of demons who build amazing high tech machines but cut themselves off from the outside world?
Drako: That explains it, if anyone can build an impossible machine, a demon from Techonia can.
Thestalos: Exactly. As for weapon’s, it has a few built in features such as retractable machine guns mounted on the side and a small missile launcher. There are other attachments for this beauty, but you’ll need to buy them at a weapons shop or build them yourself.
Drako: That’s alright, this is all I need. How much is it?
Thestalos: It’s on the house. Consider this a gift to the son of one of my favorite customers.
Drako smiled and started the bike up as Thestalos opened the secret garage door.
Thestalos: Now Drako, keep in mind I won’t be giving you a deal like this ever again. Next time you pay with cash. Same goes for if that thing ever needs to be repaired!
Drako: Got it.
Drako revved the bike up and drove it out of the shop and out of Delvadi city as Thestalos smiled and closed the garage. A familiar shadowy figure came out from behind one of the armored cars.
Thestalos; I did as you commanded, I gave him the bike. But why do you wish to give someone out to kill you such a machine?
???: You let me worry about my decisions and you just focus on your job.
Thestalos; Alright, but I expect to be compensated for that bike, understand Redraco?
Redraco grinned as both he and Thestalos head back upstairs. Drako drove out of Delvadi city and on a dirt road towards the demonic kingdom of Arcroad. He drove quickly to his destination, Princess Natalash’s castle. Meanwhile, at said castle, Princess Natalash’s men stood at attention as a certain half demon prince walked through the gates towards the Princess, who was waiting outside for her guest.
Nata: So glad you could come on such short notice Prince Michael. Though these days I hear you go by the name of Mike.
Mike: Yeah, that’s right. Now I want to know why I’m here.
Nata: Well I wanted to hire a new more powerful bodyguard while I tried to convince my new friend to stay here.
Mike: Again? Oh boy, who is it this time?
Nata took Mike to the throne room, showing him the caged Rinae, much to Mike’s surprise.
Nata: You know her?
Mike: Know her? She’s my teammate!
Nata: Teammate?! You didn’t tell me you had a teammate!
Mike: well I do. Listen Nata, I-
Guard: Your highness! There’s an intruder approaching the castle!
Nata pushes a button and some surveillance screens lower down for her to see what was going on. Mike, Nata, and Rinae all look at the screen as the gates explode as a R1200GS with a black and red paint job drove into the gates, the bike stopped and missiles shot out of it, blowing up the doors into the castle as well. The rider got off and walked towards the castle doors as soldiers come out and surround him. Mike laughed as he watched this, knowing exactly who it was.
Mike: You should consider yourself lucky Drako’s your intruder, you won’t lose any underlings.
Nata: Just watch, my men are well trained, not even a half breed as powerful as Drako will stop them.
The guards open fire as Drako jumps behind some crates, the bullets whizzing right past his head until a guard brings out a rocket launcher and blows up Drako’s only cover. He readied his guns and began shooting non-lethal bullets out of them to knock out the guards, but even as good as he was, there were just too many guards and soon bullets were actually starting to hit him. Rinae watched in horror as Drako was shot over and over again until he passed out. The guards cheer as Drako went down. Mike was surprised to see Drako so easily overwhelmed.
Mike; Well, remind me never to invade your kingdom.
Nata; Told you. Now then, throw him into the dungeon. I want him to pay for his attempt to invade this castle.
Guard: yes your highness!
One of the human guards went over to Drako to pick him up, when suddenly his arm transformed and Drako stabbed the guy with his blade-like fingers, catching everyone off guard. Rinae and Mike were shocked. They figured Drako would be alright, but the fact that he just did a lethal attack on a human was something Drako normally wouldn’t even consider. Drako ripped his hand out of the guys stomach, blood dripping down from his fingers as he looked at the remaining guards, the look in his eye was one that made it painfully clear that he was out for blood. His body began to transform further as his left arm transformed to match his right arm, the left side of his hair became spikey and sharp, matching the right side, and his bullet-hole ridden shirt transformed into a black sleeveless longcoat with a white fur collar, a black belt in the coat, and white trimming on the coat. The rest of his body turned jet black to complete the transformation. The now fully demonic looking Drako ran right towards the guards, who immediately all open fire on him, but their bullets just bounce right off his clothes and body. The rocket launcher guy launches a rocket at him, but Drako catches the Rocket without setting it off and throws it right back at the guards, who all get out of the rockets path as it hits the ground and explodes. Drako runs into the castle as more guards start shooting at him, but Drako just killed any guards that stood in his way. The terrified guards stood absolutely no chance and some of them actually tried to get out of his way. Nata watched horrified as her men were killed, but that horror quickly changed to rage as Drako finally arrived at the throne room. Drako busted his way in and walked inside nonchalantly as the remaining two guards jump him, but Drako easily dodged their combined attack and slashed both of them across the chest, causing blood to spray out, much to Nata’s rage and Rinae’s horror. Drako then looked at Nata, both of them clearly ready to kill the other.
Nata: You… how dare you kill my underlings! I’ll make you pay for that!
Nata transformed into her dragon form and shot a Dengen beam from her mouth right at Drako, who easily dodged the huge beam and got behind Nata, grabbing her by the tail and swinging her around, much to her surprise. Drako then slammed the huge dragon down onto the ground as hard as he could, which knocked her out in the process. As he readied himself to deliver the killing blow, Mike kicked Drako from behind, sending him flying right into a wall. Mike then cut Rinae free.
Mike: Take Nata and get out of here now!
Rinae: But what about Drako?!
Mike: That’s not Drako anymore, that’s the Zlashink blood controlling him.
Drako quickly recovered and grinned wildly as he stared Mike down. Drako licked one of his bladed fingers before rushing right at Mike, who blocked his attack with his two Katanas, while Rinae got Nata out of the way and hid her. She watched the two half demons battle, horrified as they clashed. They were actually trying to kill each other. Drako slashed Mike across the chest while Mike brought his sword to Drako’s neck. The blade managed to dig into Drako’s skin, but not enough for the attack to be lethal. Drako grinned and stabbed Mike in the heart before kicking him into a wall. Mike panted as he tried to get up while Drako channeled Dengen to his hand, creating a big black and green ball of Dengen aimed right at Mike. Rinae couldn’t handle it anymore and jumped in front of Mike, crying as she looked at her demonic friend.
Rinae: Drako! STOP!
Drako gasped as he looked at Rinae, seeing her in front of him, unharmed, was enough to get his senses back.
Drako’s attack dissipated and Drako fell unconscious, changing back to his human self with only his coat remaining of the transformation. Rinae ran over to him and Nata began to wake up. Mike looked at her and held his chest where he had been stabbed. He would be alright thanks to his demon blood, but Drako right now was a mystery.
Mike: Nata, I’m going to take Drako and Rinae with me and leave. Any objections?
Nata: …no. Having those two around is way too much trouble.
